ipod: Lost and Found

If you have ever dropped your ipod off the top of Hoover Dam and watched it tumble down the steep slope 75 feet until it crashes onto a rocky cliff ledge below, you probably called it a total loss. Well you were wrong! It sat there for who knows how many months or years beaten by desert sun and occasional rain until this morning when Nathaniel repelled down the dam and found it and it still works great! Hardly a scratch!

We called apple to see if the owner had registered the serial number, but he hadn't. He also hadn't called in to report it lost because he was sure it would never be found alive. Or maybe he saw this as an opportunity to convince his parents he needed an upgrade to the iphone.

Nathaniel wants to list it for sale to see what we can get for it, but the funny thing is that its relevance has deteriorated faster than its hardware, even after the hardware plummeted off a dam and aged in complete exposure to the elements. That's the great thing about technology.

Here's a great commercial on that topic in case you missed it:

  1. So funny! In technology years, my ipod is as old as I am...ancient.
